CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: Deputy Secretary General/Programmes Coordinator of AIPP

Job Content: General Description of functions and responsibilities 

The functions and responsibilities of the Deputy Secretary General as Programmes Coordinator are to coordinate the implementation of the programme for organizational strengthening, and the over-all day to day management and supervision of the secretariat. These functions and responsibilities are important in ensuring the targeted implementation of organizational plans and activities, and the systematization and management of the work of the secretariat (20 staffs) especially in programme implementation. 

Tasks and duties:

  1. Coordinate the implementation of the programme on organizational strengthening
  2. Review the monthly work-plans of staff and conduct weekly meeting with programme staff for monitoring, supervision and coordination
  3. Review the written reports, statements or presentations of staff members prior to submission to SG for finalization
  4. Convene the regular staff meeting and management team meeting in the absence of the SG
  5. Make recommendations to SG in relation to staff management and supervision
  6. Supervise key inter-programme activities of AIPP
  7. Ensure the implementation of the Staff Development Plan
  8. Perform tasks assigned by the SG

Criteria and Qualification 

  1. Indigenous person with at least 3 years of working with indigenous peoples at the local, national, regional levels
  2. In-depth knowledge of indigenous peoples rights, issues and concerns
  3. In-depth knowledge and know how on management systems and skilled in monitoring, supervision and management
  4. Excellent communication skills, including inter-personal
  5. Team-oriented, posses a positive attitude and work well with others from different cultural backgrounds
  6. Excellent verbal and writing communication skills in English
  7. Flexible and capable to do multi-tasking
  8. Self-motivated and capable to work under pressure


  1. Salary shall be based on the qualification of the candidate
